You can see a bit here how Jonathan's wrapped up - he's in a receiving blanket which is folded up as newborns are usually folded, with one flap tucked over his body and the other brought over the top and tucked under the other side. Then he's lying on a large oval padded mat kind of thing with two wide cloth bands sewn to one side. After he's wrapped in the blanket, the bands are brought up over him and tucked under his body to keep the blanket from coming loose and to bind his hands down a little more securely. This is the best picture I have of this setup...and can you tell that he's awake and Mom's talking to him? When he's awake, he just lays and stares at Mom like he's absorbing her. It's very sweet to see. And the funny thing? People there keep telling us he can't see beyond six inches from his face, but I never saw a baby scrutinize people the way he does. He will twist his body around to stare at every face around him, and he's been doing it since the first night he was born. Mom just happens to be his favorite person to stare at. What a coincidence, eh?
